About Grace
Kia ora! My name is Grace and I am a fitness coach based in Wellington, NZ. I strongly disliked fitness when I was younger, but found a love for it when I took up long-distance running. After running a marathon, I decided I was ready for something new and threw myself into strength training with a strong focus on muscle building. Over time, I began to get bored with deadlifts and back squats and looked for a different form of training that would challenge my body in new ways and allow me to still feel that I was learning and growing.
I now employ a style of training that uses balance and mobility integrated with strength training, so I can still feel I am growing my muscles and getting stronger, while also improving skillwork like arm balances and range of motion.

My Approach
I like to keep fitness enjoyable, and I use different methods of training to work around likes, dislikes and injuries. If you tell me your goals, it is my job to design a program to get you those goals in a way that keeps you motivated and confident.
Progressive
Often, a key element missing from self-guided training is progression. I will design a program that matches your current ability, and consistently reassess that to keep you moving forward. Progressions can range from creating balance challenges to increasing weights, isolating parts of the body, or recruiting more of the body.
Injury Friendly
If exercise has often been an area of pain for you, I will put together a program that works to strengthen the joints and muscles around the injury to prevent aches and pains. We can utilise exercises that keep the load light on the joints at first, and slowly progress as the strength grows.
Compassionate
I am here to meet you at your comfort level and create an effective program around that. If you're comfortable deadlifting in a large gym, fantastic. Do you prefer to do bodyweight exercises at home? No problem. Training doesn't need to be an uncomfortable exeperience for it to be effective.
